That is all depends on your budget and the size of your group. If you can make up a group of between 6 – 16 person, you can rent a whole both just for your group which is called Private Charter. There will be no other guestsonboard but your party and you have flexibilty about the start and finish dates, route, menu, etc. On all the gulets 2 person can accomodate in 1 cabin. So if you are 8 person than 4 cabin gulet will be enough for you but you may choose the charter a bigger gulet to be more spacious. It is all upto you really! Keep in mind that the bigger the gulet (in cabins and in size) more spacious it is. If you can not make up a group but still want to go a yachting holiday, you are welcomed to join one of the quaranteed departure cabin charters. What is a Gulet
Gulet is the traditional Turkish wooden yacht, used in Turkey for transportation before, Gulets were developed up to big wooden yachts to live on for the summer. Built in the Turkish coast villages like Bodrum, Bozburun, Marmaris and Istanbul they have today strong engines for a comfortable movement between the numerous Turkish bays, but also sails to use the strong summery afternoon winds for a ride.
With Turkish boats like this, you can experience a boat-holiday, a blue cruise, which is very comfortable and spacey – and very different to the more “sportive” way of sailing with “usual” charter boats. The ancient city of Knidos, one of the important centers of the ancient period
Resadiye Peninsula is located at the southwestern tip of Turkey, forming the western part of the Datca Peninsula, which is approximately 60 km long. The peninsula is bordered by the Islands of Simi, Tilos, and Nisyros to the south, Stongyli and Kos Islands to the west, and the Bodrum Peninsula to the north. To the east is the modern Datca district and the ancient settlement in Burgaz District, which is intertwined with this district. At the far end of the Resadiye Peninsula is the ancient city of Knidos, one of the important centers of the ancient period. Knidos, which was established between the islands of Kos and Rhodes, one of the famous centers of antiquity, is one of the most important centers of the Caria region and a second known Dorcity after Halicarnassus. The Dorians from Peleponnes founded the city of Knidos shortly after the settlements of Rhodes and Kos. There is also the possibility that this Dorian colony came from Sparta. Another statement is that the city was founded by Triopas of Argos. Strabo states that the city was built on terraces and rose from the shore towards the acropolis like a theater. Indeed, due to the mountainous nature of the land, Knidos is a city of terraces. The city is united by a narrow piece of land and an islet called the camel’s neck or Kap Krio. As a result, a port was built in each of the two bays, of which the western one was used by warships and the eastern one by merchant ships. Knidos was a very developed center of trade. The city, which was famous for its wines, also exports the wines it produces. The city has played an important role in the Hellenic world since the 6th century BC.

Cedrai Ancient City, or Sedir Island as it is commonly known, is located in the east of the Gulf of Gokova (Keramos, Kerme) Gulf within the borders of the Ula district of Mugla. It is the largest of a trio of islands filled with ancient ruins located in the bay. The ancient name of Sedir Island is Kedrae or Cedrae. It is thought that the island and its surroundings, which the local people call Sedir Island, were covered with cedar trees (Cedrus) centuries ago, so the island was called Cedrae. But today, the island and its surroundings are covered with maquis, olive and pine trees. Cedrae was one of the important cities of the Carian civilization.
In some sources, it is mentioned that the Carian king families spent their summers on this island. In the following centuries, the island was considered one of the important towns of the Rhodian peria (opposite side). Settlement on Sedir Island developed on the east side of the isthmus that divides the island into two.The city’s theater, sanctuaries, residences, harbors and many other important civil and religious buildings are located on this walled area. The necropolis area, the port and some of the other civilian structures are on the mainland on the east side of the island. The vast majority of the ruins that survive today, both on the mainland and on the islands, belong to the Eastern Roman period.
Turkish incursions into the Caria region intensified from the end of the 11th century AD, and the city came under Ottoman rule in the first quarter of the 15th century AD. With its sandy beach length of approximately 800 meters and its rich natural texture integrated with archaeological remains, the island is a first-degree archaeological site, a first-degree natural protected area and also a special environmental protection area. The many towers and city walls made of smooth cut stone, the Temple of Apollo and the church built later, the well-preserved theater, the agora and the ruins of the ancient harbor of Sedir Island are worth seeing.The beach, known as Cleopatra Beach, is under protection due to its sands consisting of limestone droplets formed in a special way.
How to Get to Sedir Island?
The closest settlement to Sedir Island is Çamlı village of Marmaris district and the fastest transportation to the island is provided from the port of Çamlı village. In addition, the island can be reached by day trip boats from the Akyaka neighborhood of Ula district.
